CrossFit has become popular at a dizzying pace, so many people are still unaware of this type of training. Today we leave you with a dictionary of CrossFit terms so that you can learn more about this discipline.
DICTIONARY OF CROSSFIT TERMS
- WOD: It's the basic term of CrossFit and it designates, with its acronym in English (Workout Of The Day), the training of the day. In other words, it is the training session that will take place on a specific day.
- Box: is the place where the training takes place, i.e. any gym or fitness centre.
- AMRAP: As Many Rounds As Possible, this term determines that as many laps as possible of the indicated circuit must be done in a specific time. It can also mean that as many repetitions of an exercise as possible should be done in a specific time.
- ROM: Derived from its acronym in English (Range Of Motion) and designates the range of motion of each exercise that must be completed in order to count each repetition as valid.
- For time: indicates that the time in which you complete an exercise or a series of exercises must be recorded. The exercises must be carried out as quickly as possible.
- EMOM: It derives from its abbreviation in English (Every Minute on the Minute) and indicates to do the determined number of repetitions of each minute, during as many minutes as possible or during certain minutes.
- BW: stands for Body weight
